Jeri Belle Buchanan-Smith

Jeri Belle Buchanan-Smith, 77, of Irving, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born on August 20, 1940 in Galveston, Texas to Robert Logan and Jacqueline (Grable) Buchanan. She graduated from Carrollton High School, attended Abilene Christian University and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was very giving, kind and funny. Many amazing memories were created and shall forever be remembered.
Jeri is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Jeannie Tussey and Jackie Odom. Survivors include two children: Cindy Derbyshire and husband John of Grapevine, and Tommy Smith of Denton; beloved granddaughters (who called her Mimi), Chelsea Derbyshire of Abilene and Hannah Derbyshire of Grapevine; siblings: Buck Buchanan and wife Betty of Mount Vernon, Jim Buchanan of Irving and Jessie Ferguson of Euless; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Chapel at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service. Kent Hall will officiate. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Boulevard, Irving, Texas 75060. We will love you forever.
