BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Ralph Emerson Soape Sr is the son of Joe Schuyler Soape (1877 - 1965) and Sarah Eunice Soape (1875 - 1965).  Per the the 1940 Federal Census. Ralph, Eula, and Ralph J were living in Carrollton, TX.  His is listed as 35 yrs old with the occupation of Vocational Teacher, Ag.  ED 63-13 sheet 10a line 4.  They were living on Denton Road.

He appears in the Carrollton High School Yearbooks from 1940 thru 1943.

The census shows he was born in Panola Co., TX which is where he and his family are buried.

HIS WIFE'S OBITUARY
 
TROUP - Services for Eula Mae Cameron Soape, 103, Troup, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the First Baptist Church, Troup, with the Rev. Jack David Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the Youngblood Cemetery, near Beckville. Mrs. Soape died Sunday, May 16, 2010, in a Tyler nursing home. She was born April 25, 1907, in Tulia to the late Charlie Lee and Lillie Dale Arceaneaux Cameron. She later moved with her family to Jacksonville where she attended Jacksonville public school and Jacksonville Baptist College. Mrs. Soape had been a resident of Troup since 1949.

She was a school teacher, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church, Troup.

She married Ralph Emerson Soape Sr. in Jacksonville, Sept. 16, 1928. He preceded her in death June 9, 1986.

She was also preceded in death by sons, Joe Schuyler Soape, Ralph Emerson Soape Jr. and Archie Glenn Soape; and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hugh and Meredith Soape, Burton, and Charlie Soape, Troup; grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle Soape, Michael and Amanda Soape, and Sean and Scott Irvin; a day-old great-granddaughter, Kennedi Fate Soape; and nu-merous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Soape, Hugh Soape, Michael Soape, Scott Irvin, Johnny Glasscock and Joe Taylor.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 19.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Hope Foundation at 120 E. Southtown Drive, Tyler, 75703.
