OBITUARY
 
SARAH'S OBITUARY
Sarah Bernice Scribner Wall Sorrells was born on February 1, 1924 in Collin County, Texas to the late Jesse Jackson Scribner and Willie P. Scribner. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 89 on August 3, 2013 in Hope Arkansas. Bernice, as she was better known, is survived by her one sister, Nora Frances Snider of Mesquite, Texas, and by three children, Scott Wall (Joanne), Lindell Wayne Sorrells (Jerettia), and Hebbard James Sorrells (Brenda). She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Marcia Lynn Wall, Travis James Wall, Jamie Lynne Ryckman, and Sheri Lynn Grzeckowski; by four great-grandchildren, Caleb Scott Wall, Jacob Alexander Morris, Ashley Grzeckowski, and Nicholas Grzeckowski; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Sorrells; by two sisters, Evelyn Mae Evans and Iva Louise Farley; and by two brothers, Jesse Milton Scribner and Gerald Ray Scribner. Born and raised in Texas, Bernice moved to Rosston, Arkansas in 1979 where she lived until taking residence at Heather Manor in Hope, Arkansas in 2010. Loved by many, she was also known to family members as Aunt Bernie and as Crazy Granny. Talkative and friendly, Bernice was a colorful character who always had something interesting to say. Her hobbies included fishing, camping, going to garage sales, sitting on the porch, and visiting with friends. She enjoyed watching the birds outside of her window and collecting wind chimes and stuffed monkeys. She will be greatly missed by her family, by her friends, and by her caretakers at Heather Manor. Graveside service will be Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm in Stoney Point Cemetery, Melissa, Texas under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home
