OBITUARY

ARLINGTON - Beatrice Gravley Spence, 87, a retired licensed vocational nurse, died Saturday at an Arlington retirement center.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Monday at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Burial: Grove Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

SPENCE
BEATRICE G. (FINCH), 87, passed away Saturday, February 10, 1996 in Arlington, TX. She was born to  Arthur and Pearl Perry Gravley Dec. 6, 1908 in Carrollton, TX. Her grandparents were Carrollton pioneers, A.N. and Sarah Perry. She moved to East Texas in 1949, living first in Van and then in Tyler from 1968 until 1991. She retired from East Texas Medical Center in Tyler where she was a nurse for 20 years. She has resided the last five years in Arlington at the Arlington Plaza Retirement Center. Beatrice was a very giving and caring person who will be dearly missed by all her family and those who knew her. A beautiful person, she loved everyone and always lived life to the fullest. She was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church in Tyler. She is preceded in death by Clifton Lee Finch, her children's father and Harold Spence. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Eileen & Danny Lang, Dallas, Betty & Charlie Shadwick, Ennis, Steve & Sharon Finch, Excelsior, MN; Seven Grandchildren and Nine Great Grandchildren. Beatrice was the oldest of nine children, two of which preceded her in death, with four brothers and two sisters surviving. The family will receive friends at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday evening. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 1996 in the CHAPEL of GROVE HILL FUNERAL HOME. Pallbearers will be Tim Nichol, Art Gravley, Gary Gravley, Lindsey Gravley, Jim Gravley, Ken Braswell. Memorials have been requested to the National Hospice Foundation, 777 17th St., Suite 401, Mianmi, FL, 33139.
