Wilson plans to become a doctor and is going to NTSTC and study chemistry and Latin as a pre-medical course; his favorite sports are swimming and football, and while in high school he enjoyed commercial law classes.

 

OBITUARY

 
Wilson Coppedge Stark

Was born on July 9, 1921 in Dallas, Texas, and peacefully passed away on September 7th, 2013 at his home in Lewisville, Texas at the age of 92.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Norma Beatrice Stark; parents, Henry Oscar and Leila Coppedge Stark; sisters, Elsie Harry and Annie Laurie Verbick; brothers, Waldo Stark, Thomas Stark, Leslie Stark, Harold Stark, and Gara Stark; and granddaughter, Carrie Pirkle. He is survived by son Mike Pirkle and wife Gloria; daughter Janet Brister and husband Chris; grandsons Scott Pirkle and Sean Brister; granddaughter Angela Brister; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilson grew up on Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas where he graduated from Carrollton High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 when he was assigned to the V-12 college program and attended the University of Central Missouri. He was stationed In Hawaii during his active service, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then went on to graduate from North Texas State Teachers College (University of North Texas) with a Business Administration Degree in 1947. His career was in the insurance field which included the position of Supervisor of Commercial Casualty Underwriting with Hartford Insurance in Dallas, a company with which he was employed for many years until his retirement.
Wilson was a kind-hearted man of great character and integrity, who loved and was devoted to his family and church. In Dallas, he was a member of Cochran Chapel Methodist Church where he served as church treasurer in the early 60's. During the years of 1967-84 he resided in De Soto, TX where he was active in De Soto United Methodist Church. During his residency in Lewisville, he enjoyed being a member of the Seekers Class, and various organizations of the First United Methodist Church alongside his beloved Norma. During his retirement, he loved helping out his family and friends and going on memorable travels with them as well. He is forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed. His memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Lewisville at 907 West Main Street, Lewisville, TX 75067, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. preceding the service. The graveside service will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.

Stark, Beatrice Norma

Beatrice Norma Stark of Lewisville, Texas was born on Sept. 26, 1922 and passed away peacefully in her home on August 14, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born and raised in Dallas County, Texas. Norma was preceded in death by her parents Dalton F. Evans and Beatrice Mullenix Evans; her twin brother Floyd Evans; granddaughter Carrie Pirkle; and sister, Francis Rowan. Norma is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Wilson C. Stark; son Mike Pirkle and wife Gloria; daughter Janet Brister and husband Chris; grandsons Scott Pirkle and Sean Brister; granddaughter Angela Brister; numerous nieces & nephews. Norma's life was devoted to her family and church. In the early 60's she assisted her husband who served as church treasurer at Cochran Chapel United Methodist Church in Dallas. During the years of 1967-84 she resided in DeSoto, TX where she enjoyed sponsoring the youth group and working in numerous leadership positions at DeSoto United Methodist Church including president of the United Methodist Women and membership on the Church Board. During her residency in Lewisville, she faithfully served for ten years on the Social Concerns Group led By Paul Sackett, associate minister of the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville. Norma enjoyed many wonderful times with friends and family in her churches and communities. Other treasured memories include her participation and presidency of the Desoto Garden Club, working in Scouting programs, and unforgettable trips with loved ones including travels abroad. Norma is forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed. Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday August 18, 2010 at First United Methodist Church of Lewisville 907 West Main St. Lewisville, TX 75067, with visitation at the church from 9:30-11:00 prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
