OBITUARY

Douglas Lee Teter, age 77, of Mineola, TX, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Douglas was born on January 29, 1945, in Dallas, Texas to the late Winna Faye Covington and Cecil Ellsworth Teter. He was enlisted in the U.S. Army and later married the love of his life, Linda King on September 27, 1969. Doug went on to work as a Quality Engineer for L3 in Greenville. Together, the Teters welcomed two children, Brian and Lisa. In 1981, the Teters moved down and settled in Mineola.

Douglas was a member of First Baptist Church of Mineola and was also a Mason for the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed many pastimes: spending time with family and friends, going fishing and teaching his grandsons all he knew about fishing, cooking and grilling for his family, planting and tending his garden and then sharing the fruits of his labor with others.

Douglas is preceded in death by both his parents, Winna Faye Covington Teter and Cecil Ellsworth Teter, one brother, James Teter, and one sister, Nancy Jordan.

Left behind to cherish his loving memory are his loving and faithful wife of 53 years, Linda Teter; his two children, Brian Teter and his wife Debra, and Lisa Janis and her husband Curtis; five grandchildren, Haley Williams, Holly Williams, Joey Teter, Kyle Janis, and Luke Janis; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Douglas Lee Teter will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Mineola. Graveside service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mineola. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday January 3 at the Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations Funeral Home in Quitman.
