Ressie Pauline Stanley Thompson
Funeral services for Mrs Ressie Pauline Thompson, a first grade teacher at the Tom C. Field Elementary School in Dallas, were to be held at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch. Burial was to follow in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Mrs. Thompson, who lived at 3062 Randy Lane in Farmers Branch, died Sunday in a local hospital. The former Ressie Pauline Stanley, she was a native & lifelong resident of Farmers Branch.
A graduate of the old North Texas State Teachers College. Mrs. Thompson had been a school teacher for 40 years. She began her career in Renner & also taught in the Farmers Branch Elementary School before joining the Dallas school system.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch & had taught Sunday school there. She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star & was a former member of the Farmers Branch Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, W. Ray Thompson of Farmers Branch; her mother, Mrs. John (Emma) Stanley of F. B.; two brothers, C. W. Stanley of F. B. & John Harris Stanley of Dallas; & two sisters, Grace Welch of Dallas & Mrs. James (Art) Daniel of Carrollton.

Long-Time Area Teacher Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Ressie Pauline Thompson, a first grade teacher in the Tom W. Field Elementary School, were held at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, in the First Baptist Church of Farmers Branch with Rev. Glenn Hayden, Rev. G. B. Bailey and Rev. Ed Blythe officiating. Burial was in Restland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Thompson, who lived at 3062 Randy Lane, Farmers Branch, died Sunday, October 4, in a Dallas Hospital.. The former Miss Ressie Pauline Stanley, she was a native and lifelong resident of Farmers Branch.

She is survived by her husband, W. R. Thompson; her mother, Mrs. John Stanley; two brothers, C. W. Stanley, all of Farmers Branch; Harris Stanley, Dallas and two sisters, Mrs. James (Art) Daniel, Carrollton and Mrs. Grace Welch, Dallas.
Pallbearers were Morris S. Roach, Buddy Ranton, Roy Rasberry, Deb Brimmage, Bill Bonarden, Leo Coats with Rhoton, Weiland-Merritt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
