OBITUARY

Sarah Elizabeth Toombs
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Toombs were held in the Union Baptist church of which she was a member Wednesday afternoon at3:30 o'clock, Rev. A. W. Cunningham, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating in the absence of their pastor Rev. L. M. Joines. Interment was made in Perry Cemetery.
Mrs. Toombs had been a sufferer for many months, the end coming Tuesday night at 10:50 o'clock. Her husband, Sam Toombs died a few months ago. She was born in Alabama Dec. 9, 1887, and was at time of death 44 years and 8 months of age. She is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Blackburn of Merkel, Texas; and three brothers, John, Ed, and Kay, also of that place and by eight children, five sons and three daughters, one child died in infancy. The sons are: John, Cleo, Bud, Sam Ed and Billie John, the daughters are Lena, Carrie and Doris.
The  family have resided in this place about twelve years coming here from Merkel where most of their relatives reside.
A brother and a sister of Sam Tombs, also residents of Merkel, were here for the funeral Wednesday.
