OBITUARY
 
DAVID LEE WEAVER
June 16, 1929 - March 28, 2011

David Lee Weaver, 81, a resident of Farmers Branch since 1955, passed away Monday afternoon, March 28th, in Carrollton following an extended period of ill health. He was born in Brookville, Pennsylvania, the son of Raleigh Jordan and Edna Grace Vandervort Weaver.

He grew up in Brookville and attended Northside High School after which he entered the United States Army in 1946. Following his discharged he moved to Dallas where he attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science graduating with the class of 1949. David also married Marilyn Burke in Dallas, December 29, 1949 and they moved to Farmer's Branch where they have resided since 1955.

Definitely a people person, he enjoyed his family and his association and conversation with friends. He loved outdoor life, fishing, camping and hunting and for a brief time was an assistant scout master for Boy Scout Troop 734 that met at Christ United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters, he is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; by a daughter, Diane Etheridge and her husband Doug of Carrollton and by two grandchildren, Tiffany Etheridge and her husband, Ray Salinas of Arlington and Christy McClain and her husband J.J., and by a great grandson, Jonathan (Trey) McClain all of Carrollton. David is also survived by two brothers, Walter Weaver of Brookville, Pennsylvania and James (Jimmy) R. Weaver of Mason, Tennessee.

Visitation will be at Rhoton Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31st with graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1st at Hilltop Memorial Park with Pastor Bob Spencer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Christ United Methodist Church, 2807 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.
