OBITUARY

WELCH
WILLIAM B., 85, a retired Chief Engineer, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2004 in Carrollton, TX. Funeral: 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Merrell Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home. Mr. Welch was born in Dallas in 1919 and lived in the area his entire life. He served in the Army during World War II and retired from Republic National Life Insurance Company after 35 years. Bill was a member of Boy Scout Troup 121 for over 40 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver. He founded the Carrollton Police Reserve and served for 35 years. Mr. Welch had  been a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton for 50 years. He will be missed by all  who knew and loved him. Survivors: Wife of 63 years Opal Welch, sons, Rick Welch and wife Teala of Katy, TX and Charles Welch and wife Glynda of Plano, TX; daughter Julianne Welch of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Scott, Joy, Jason, Lindsey; 5 great-grandchildren
