OBITUARY
 
Gary B. Wise

Gary B. Wise, 57, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Fellowship Church with John Love officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Gary was born Jan. 30, 1959, in Clovis, N.M., to Jim and Joann Wise. He graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton. Gary has been a resident of Amarillo since 1980. He married Barbara Oliver on Oct. 24, 1987, in Amarillo.

He owned and operated Wise Irrigation in Amarillo since 1990. Gary was a member of Texas Panhandle Irrigators Association, where he served as past president and vice president as well as a representative to Texas Turf Irrigation Association. He was always known as a hard worker and family man. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Wise; and his grandparents, Charles and Reta Samples and Morris and Clara Wise.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Amarillo; a son, Colton Wise and wife Bailey of Amarillo; his mother, Joann Wise of Roanoke; a brother, Denny Wise and wife Connie of Rock Hill, S.C.; and two sisters, Debbie Towns and husband Randy of Roanoke and Carol Harrison of Blue Ridge.

The family suggests memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Foundation, 1600 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
