School Program

The program for high school activities for the final school events for this year are reported as follows by the Superintendent.
Commencement, Friday evening, May 29, 8 o'clock. Dr. J. F. Kimball, vice president of Baylor University, Commencement speaker.
All these events will be held in the First Methodist church.
Senior Day exercises will be held at high school Friday morning, May 29 at 11:30 o'clock. The public is cordially invited to attend the same.
The following program will be given:
Class History - Alfreda Perry
Class Prophesy - Beulah Knight
Class Will - Ernest Coonrod
Class Poem - Jack Lewis
At the Commencement exercises the Valedictorian will be Gladys Ledbetter, the Salutatorian, Junior Lord.
To Colene Brake, by unanimous vote of the high school faculty, was allotted the Honor Plaque Award for Scholarship, Loyalty, and Achievement. This award comes to Miss Colene because of her efficiency and helpfulness thruout the entire school; she always seemed to fit in anywhere needed and always was willing to do anything she could do to assist. Had the vote included all the teachers and student body it would have doubtless gone to her in the same unanimity.

Two outstanding  students of this class were Joe Bailey, who made an average grade of 95 for the past five reports, and Betty Lou Keneipp who made an average of 93 3-5 for the last five reports. Wonderful work this and if continued indicates that there will be some mighty fine grades made thru the coming years until graduation.
There are twenty of these graduates and when augmented by the students from the other schools which may send students to Carrollton next year it will mean a class of some real dimensions.
