Lion Victim Still Serious
Carol Ann Holdren, who was mauled by a lion at a Farmers
Branch animal hospital Tuesday, remained in serious condition Friday in the
intensive care unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
She apparently had entered a cage to pet the lion when it began to maul her.
The lion was shot and killed by a Farmers Branch police officer, who was
called to the scene when veterinarian was unable to stop the attack.
The lion's body was still at the Animal Clinic of Farmers Branch 14021
Denton Rd. Friday and efforts by the clinic to locate the lion's owner, Dan
Shafer, have been unsuccessful
