OBITUARY
ACKLEY,
ANITA IONE loving mother, grandmother and sister at the age of 66,
traveled home to be with our Lord on May 10, 2013. She has fought a long
and aggressive battle but is now completely pain free from her cancer.
Anita was a Christian, full of love for her daughters and grandchildren
and had a servant's will to do for others. She has a profound passion
for writing poetry and painting. She was a long time resident of Farmers
Branch and Garland, Texas, and over the past ten years of Kerrville,
Texas. Anita graduated from R. L. Turner High School and completed her
Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas, Dallas. She was a
wonderful teacher and knew that she was truly making a difference in
preparing so many young ones for their educational journey. She loved
filling her home and gardens with plants and flowers. Her patio was full
of plants no one had ever heard of, but she could tell you everything
you needed to know (and more) about each and every one of them. She has
passed this quality to her daughters, and to this day each of them loves
to garden and grow their own flowers, fruits and vegetables! Anita loved
listening to her father and brother play the guitar and harmonica. She
too, was very musical. She loved to play the piano and prior to 1989,
was a long time standing choir member at Eastridge Park Christian
Church. She loved her church family dearly. She was very creative and
was the one everyone called for ideas for decorative ideas as she loved
to create skits, plays and paper mache props. She was truly one of a
kind. We will miss her greatly but will find peace in knowing that her
spirit and the values that she instilled in all of us will always
remain.
Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Restland
Wildwood Chapel. |
