Joel Adkins, 71, of Andrews passed away peacefully Monday February 5, 2007 at Home Hospice House in Odessa after an agonizing battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell , Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Joel was born May 18, 1935 in Ryan, Oklahoma. Joel served it the US Army. He married Mary Beth Taylor, May 27, 1961 in Dallas. He lived in Andrews from 1957 until 1964 when he and Mary Beth moved to Carrollton Texas. Joel was very involved in his community. Joel is now in heaven, no doubt entertaining angels with his humor in a pain free body. Joel was a great father, grandfather, husband, Brother in law, Christian and friend.

Joel was a friend to all and a stranger to none.
