OBITUARY

North Dallas Funeral Home

Larry Ray “Chip” Aldridge passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the age of 52.

Chip made his debut on September 9, 1964 to Gwenda Aldridge, his beloved mother. Long before the world would come to know his larger than life personality, he made a statement with his larger than most rolls of chub, curly blonde hair and those wide green eyes full of curiosity. From his breech birth, to his flashy sense of style, you could tell that he was born to stand out, and boy did he stand out. Chip possessed a zest for life that would lead him far away from his small town, to the big city. Chip moved to Dallas, Texas as a teenager, where he became smitten with the night-life and found the diversity that he craved. Chip was a people person through and through and always knew what was best for others. Beginning with his job as a bartender, to his career in sales of almost everything. He could sell you a drink, a car, a house, a business, maybe even shoes that weren’t your size! It didn’t matter, because he had the ability to charm anyone into his way of thinking.

Everything Chip did, he did with gusto. Mediocrity was not his style. When he won, he won big. When he lost, he lost big. There was no in between. Chip was the same with love. If Chip loved you, he loved you big. He loved without judgment, without expectation and with a forgiving heart.

At his core, he was a kind soul. In addition to being kind, his sense of humor made him the life of any party, even if he was the only one there! He was optimistic without exception. His faith in the Lord gave him a peace that few could understand. In the face of fear, his faith did not waiver. This was evident during the most trying time of his life. Chip understood that God was using his illness as a vessel to show others, that with Christ, you also find bravery, strength, courage, and eternal love.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7

Chip is survived by his mother, Gwenda Aldridge, his partner, BJ Crabb, sister and brother-in-law, Tiffany and Paul Fioroni, sister, Amber Farley, sister, Taylor Aldridge, and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Aldridge; partner, Jack Swartz (#98335282) and brother-in-law, Guy Farley.

Chip will always be remembered for his kind heart and quick wit. He loved his family and friends beyond measure, and will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, June 19, 2017 at Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton.
