OBITUARY

Paula Gail Allen

Services for Paula Gail Allen, 60, of Calera, who passed away Thursday, January 25, 2007, at her residence, were Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Brown's Durant Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Buddy Cole and Rev. David Ewing officiated.

Paula was born November 21, 1946, in Tulsa to JW and Doris A. Akers. Paula attended school in Farmers Branch, Texas, and worked as an Electronic Assembler. Paula married George Allen August 28, 1989, in Leonard, Texas. Paula and George moved to Bryan County in 2002 from Famersville, Texas. They were members of the Church of God in Calera. Paula enjoyed painting and making ceramics, playing pogo, and spending time with her friends and family. Paula will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, JW and Doris Akers; grandmother, Georgia Jones; and grandson, Kasey Dewberry.

Paula is survived by her husband George of the home; daughter Margo Lopez and friend Armando Riojas, Ponder, Texas, daughter Kelly Cole and husband Keith of Calera; daughter Judy Hogg and husband Richard of Huntington, Texas; son John Rowe and wife Marcie of Durant; daughter D'Lynn Rowell and husband Ben of Calera; son Tony Rowe and wife Shey of Sherman, Texas; son George Allen Jr. and wife April of Mexico, Missouri; daughter Amanda Brixey and husband Shane of Mexico, Missouri; brothers Michael Akers of Dallas, Texas, and Tracy Akers of Calera; 23 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas with Tony Rowe, Tracy Akers, Ben Rowell, Keith Cole, George Allen Jr, Kenny Allen, Daniel Nash, and Richard Hogg serving as pallbearers.
