OBITUARY

Steven Wayne Allen
Born: May 13, 1952
Died: April 30, 2016

Steven Wayne Allen of Lewisville, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2016. He was born May 13, 1952 in Brownwood, Texas to Wayne and Theresa Allen. He joined his father in heaven at the age of 63. He is survived by his spouse, Carolyn, his two children, April Edwards and her husband Jeff, Austin Allen and his wife Caycee, three step-children, Nick, Hannah and Jordan Casey, four grandchildren, Abby, Cody, Jack and Kyla, his mother, Theresa Allen, his sister, Sunni Stokeld and her husband, Brian, his brother, Grant Allen and his wife Kristy, and many nieces and nephews.
Steve moved to Carrollton, Texas in 1965 when his father was called to be the pastor of First Baptist Church, Carrollton. He graduated from R. L Turner High School, Carrollton, Texas in 1970. Along the way he helped lead the Varsity basketball team to the 1970 state finals in Austin, Texas. Steve attended Baylor University, playing basketball for Baylor his freshmen year and joining the A K Psi fraternity. He graduated from Baylor with a degree in Secondary Education. He coached high school basketball for several years in Waco, Lewisville, and Stephenville, Texas before finding his true calling as a State Farm agent in 1984, and he was still an active agent in Flower Mound at the time of his passing. Because of his hard work, Steve became a member of the prestigious President’s Club which is the top 50 agents out of 18,000 agents in State Farm nationwide. He was also awarded a place in the distinguished Million Dollar Round Table which represents the top life insurance agents in the industry. Steve worked hard for his community as well by serving on the LISD school board from 1986-1998 and by sponsoring numerous fundraising drives and charity events in the area up until his passing. Steve loved people and loved bringing smiles to their faces every day. He had the ability to brighten any room in which he entered with a quick smile and a clever wit and faced life with a positive attitude. He will be greatly missed.
The visitation/reception with the family will be Thursday evening, May 5, from 7-9 pm at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral home. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, at 11 am at the Village Church, 2101 Justin Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75028. The interment will be at the Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville, Texas following the funeral.
Memorials may be made to the organization of your choice in the name of Steve Allen.
