Obituary of Olen "Bruce" Arapis PLAY TRIBUTE VIDEO
Olen “Bruce” Arapis, 76, of Carrollton, Texas passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 5, 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout his illness, Bruce remained positive and a joy to be around, never questioning God’s plan.

Bruce leaves behind the love of his life, wife of 57 years, Olene (Davis) Arapis; son Brent Arapis of Carrollton; son Blake Arapis and wife Rhonda of Burnet, TX; and the joy of his life, granddaughter Nicole Arapis of Carrollton. He also leaves behind a brother, Morris Arapis; as well as 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.

Bruce was born on February 24, 1943 in McKinney, Texas to Roger Arapis and Belle (Morris) Arapis. He attended Rylie Junior High and High School where he excelled at track & field and football.

Shortly after graduating from Rylie High School, Bruce married his high school sweetheart, Olene, and soon started their family. At the young age of 20, Bruce began his career at TDIndustries where he would eventually retire from 47 years later as Vice President Production Manager of Major Projects division.

Bruce lived his life to the fullest. This included spending time with his family and friends, going to his lake house on Lake Texoma, traveling, fishing, hunting, golfing, running, water & snow skiing, listening to music, and in his later years; playing Bingo. He was a compassionate and humble man who always saw the best in everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Belle.

The Arapis family would like to thank the staff at The Madison on Marsh and VITAS Healthcare for their attention, love and compassion that they expressed to Bruce.
