OBITUARY
Elmer Ray Baggett
Aug 10, 1934 - September 30, 2006
Elmer Ray Baggett, age 72, of Highland Village, lost his courageous
battle with cancer, Saturday, September 30, 2006.
He was born August 10, 1934 in Denton County, Texas to Claude and
Blanche Bays Baggett. He served in the United States Navy. Ray married
his wife Wilda on December 29, 1975. He joined the Dallas Police
Department in 1957 and retired in 1985 after 28 years of dedicated
service. Ray was a member of the East Dallas Masonic
Lodge #1200. He and Wilda loved square dancing and traveling and were
members of the
Swinging Saints and the North Texas Camping Squares.
Ray is survived by his wife, Wilda; daughter, Terri Anderson and
husband, Bill of Irving; sons, Chris Dandridge and wife, Lois of
Mesquite and Kelly Baggett of Irving;
mother, Blanche Baggett of Lewisville; six grandchildren, Brandi
Thompson and husband, Bryan, Jared Baggett, Erin and Todd Dandridge,
Thomas and Cameron Anderson and great grandchild, Madison Thompson. He
was preceded in death by a son, Michael Todd Dandridge and by his
father, Claude Baggett.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at
First Baptist Church in Lewisville, 1251 W. Valley Ridge Blvd.,
Lewisville, Texas 75077. Police Chaplain Billy Combest and Pastor Troy
Culpepper will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Old Hall
Cemetery in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from
7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers the
family request memorial contributions to Cancer Research Foundation,
First Baptist Church of Lewisville or to any organization of donor’s
choice. Our special thanks to Dr. Steve Perkins and Dr. Hugh McClung of
UTSW, two very special doctors. |
