Patricia
Lee Barbaro
(November 30, 1935 - August 6, 2011)
Patricia Lee Barbaro, born November 30, 1935, in Detroit,
Michigan, was called home by Our Lord on the evening of August 6, 2011.
She joins her parents Pauline and Walter Long along with her two (2)
sisters and their husbands, Dottie and Earl Lumsden, and Martha and Ed
Thompson and their son Dave. Also preceding and waiting to welcome her
home is her beloved grandson, Taylor Ryan Smith. Patricia is survived by
her four (4) children and their spouses, Paul and Colene Barbaro,
Maureen Barbaro, Mike and Connie Barbaro, and Wally and Lynn Barbaro.
She also leaves behind a beautiful legacy of nine (9) grandchildren
Rachel, Haley, Christi, Avery, Kristen, Dylan, Jake, Gaspar Paul, and
Michael. She is also survived by her nieces Chris Eliason, Jill Leonardi,
and their families along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and
cousins. She led a full life raising her four children, modeling trade
shows, traveling, doing bookkeeping for Alpha Dental. Then in 1985 she
committed her career to two of her sons playing an instrumental role in
building ESSI Inc. as the receptionist/office
manager/bookkeeper/accountant. She retired from her position there in
1998 to pursue her clogging, crocheting, sewing, and to perfect her true
focus of being “Grappie” & “Gram” to her nine (9) grandchildren. Oh and
what a great job she did whether it was hair braiding, tickling,
scratching, rubbing, karaoke sleepovers, those crazy Christmas puzzle
gifts and games, or just plain listening – just ask any of the nine –
that love and those memories will endure forever! For the past several
years she found her joy in devoting her time and talent to serving her
church, Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. She
teamed various committees at the church spending most of her days there,
where her passion was decorating the church for Christmas, Easter, and
Holiday celebrations. She took such great pride in these projects and
would spend countless hours even days setting up and caring for the
decorations to be sure they were perfect in every way. Some of her other
favorite things to do were to cook for her parish priests and attend
daily mass followed by breakfast at IHOP with all of her church girls.
She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation is set for Tuesday, August
9, 2011 at 1:00 pm with the Rosary following at l:30 pm and the Mass
beginning at 2:00 pm all at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 2800
Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234. Father Bruce Bradley will
be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made
to the American Diabetes Association at www.donations.diabetes.org.
Please sign the guest book and/or send private condolences to the family
