OBITUARY

JACK BASSHAM

Jack Bassham was a retired police officer who deeply loved his family and friends, fishing, hunting, football, children and dogs. Jack proudly served as a police officer for more than 30 years starting in Sherman, TX. and retiring as a Lieutenant in Farmer's Branch, TX. He was loved and respected among his fellow officers. His wife and two daughters were in his words, "the best thing that ever happened to me." Sadly, he lost his fight with cancer on September 1, 2011. He will be loved and missed forever.

The service will be held at Flesher Funeral Home Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. with interment at the Van Alstyne Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Flesher Funeral Home Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society, or the Collin County Police Academy.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming "WOOHOO…what a ride!"
