OBITUARY Kevin G. Battey
FLOYDADA - Kevin Glenn Battey, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Battey of
Farmers Branch, died Tuesday of an accidental gunshot wound.
Services were to be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Dr. Floyd C.
Bradley, pastor officiated assisted by the Rev. Ronald Morgan, a Baptist
minister of Farmers Branch. Burial was to be in Floyd County Memorial Park
Cemetery by Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Kevin was a native of Crosbyton and had lived in Farmers Branch with his family
since 1972. He was a former resident of Floydada.
He was an eighth grade student in the Farmers Branch Public School system and a
member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his parents, one brother, Jeff of the home, one sister, Mrs.
Ernest Felts of Farmers Branch, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Battey of
Paris, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Warren of Floydada and Mrs. G. C. Little of
Taylortown and his great-grandparents, Mrs. W. R. Hoges of Lubbock and Mrs.
Laura Fowler of Paris. The Amarillo Globe-Times (Amarillo, Texas)

OBITUARY Kevin Battey
Funeral services for Kevin Glenn Battey, 14, of Farmers Branch, and
formerly of Paris, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Chruch in
Floydada. Officiating were the Rev. Ronald Morgan of the Webbs Chapel Baptist
Chruch of Farmers Branch, where Kevin was a member, and Dr. Floyd Bradley of the
First Baptist Chruch of Floydada. Burial was in Floydada Memorial Cemetery under
the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada.
Kevin was born July 17, 1962, in Crosbyton, son of Alvin Battey and Nelda June
(Barbee) Battey.
Survivors include his father, Alvin, his stepmother, Martha (Little) Battey and
a brother, Jeff, all of the home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne
Battey of Paris and Mrs. Charlie Warren of Floydada.
His mother preceded him in death in 1965.
Kevin died Tuesday at his home.
