OBITUARY

Bessonette, Jr., Jennings C. "Sonny" - 62, slipped away to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 3, 2011 at his home in Farmers Branch. Sonny was born on February 23, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. A 1968 graduate of R.L. Turner High School, Sonny spent his entire career in automotive parts distribution, most recently with Venture Corporation in Lewisville. Survived by his loving mother, Imogene Bessonette, brother Joe Bessonette (Shelly), daughter Nikki Gates (Trevor), grandchildren Austin Gates and Avery Gates, nieces Sarah Thigpen (Matt) and Hallie Bessonette, nephew Jason Bessonette (Jenny), great-niece Jalyn Bessonette, great-nephew Judah Bessonette and nephew Brandon Krouse. Preceded in death by his father, Jennings C. Bessonette. The family would like to thank the Venture Corporation for their most gracious and generous support over the past five months. We would also like to say a very special thank you to his wonderful caregivers, Charmain Marshall and Carol Penny for the unbelievable loving attention they poured onto Sonny over the last several months. Sonny was also blessed with great neighbors, friends and co-workers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew this truly loving, generous and wonderful man. Sonny, fought the good fight, finished the race and kept his faith.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 6, from 2-4 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 7 at Restland Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Brent Ashby and Rev. Matt Thigpen. As we celebrate Sonny's life, please come with a story to share.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sonny's name to Faith Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
