Sarah Birdwell
June 16, 1942 - December 21, 2014
Life
Legacy
Sarah Birdwell, 72, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her
family Sunday, December 21, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00
PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors
Chapel in Whitney, with Rev. Kenneth Stevens officiating. Visitation
will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.
Sarah was born on June 16, 1942 in Dallas to John and Edna ( Allen )
Blankenship. She married Michael Birdwell on September 21, 1978 in
Dallas, Texas.
She was a very special and caring person who was passionate about life.
She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Her husband , family,
children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were the light of her life.
If you ever needed sunshine all you had to do was talk to her. Her love
was deep and her love was wide, just like the Lord.
She was a member of Lake Whitney Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Michael Birdwell of Laguna
Park; daughters, Deborah Lodrigue of Stephenville, Lisa Whitsell of
Carrollton and D’Ann Legg and husband, Dane of Belton; brother, Charlie
Blankenship of Farmers Branch; sisters, Mary Perry and husband, Charles
of Highland Village, Bernice Evett and husband, Leonard of San
Augustine; grandchildren, Holly, Heidi, Ashley, Chandler, Ty, Hunter,
Brock and Aspen; great-grandchild, Avery; special friend, Eddie Shelton;
several nieces and nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Judes Childrens
