March 23, 1941 - July 15, 2021

Jean Reneau Blair, beloved mother and “Jean-Mom” passed away on July 15, 2021 in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born to Harold Eugene and Gracie Frances Reneau on March 23,1941 in Carrollton, Texas the oldest of their seven daughters.

Jean and her sister Stella worked at the soda fountain Halls Rexall on the square in downtown Carrollton in high school. After that she worked as a waitress at the Dairy Mart diner and malt shop, where she met Larry Dean Blair in 1958, her junior year of high school. He’d just returned after serving the Army in Germany and had relocated to Dallas.

On June 8, 1958, she and Larry eloped. Jean graduated from Carrollton High School in 1959, after the birth of their first child Larry “Ikey” Blair. Their second child, Gregory was born in 1962 and their daughter Jean-Marie in 1970. Jean lived in the DFW metroplex for most of her 80 years, ultimately choosing to retire in Flower Mound.

Jean was known for her remarkable beauty, and as recently as last month, she was getting compliments from health care professionals on her bright and youthful complexion and beautiful hair. She took great pride in her appearance and amassed an extensive wardrobe. She loved to socialize with friends and family. She was easy to talk to, often striking up conversation with strangers everywhere she went.

At one time Jean owned Jean’s Young Fashions, a children’s boutique located in Main Valley Shopping Center and in Lakeland Plaza in Lewisville, Texas. Later she worked in retail for Joske’s and Dillard’s department store in Prestonwood Mall. After the death of Larry in 1994 she was the owner of L&R Trailers, Inc in Dallas, Texas.

Jean had an active life and enjoyed many activities in her youth. From roller skating, cycling, swimming, snow skiing, gardening, and eventually actively participating in competitive billiards with her pool team “BeastMode” up until this year. She had a free spirit and never seemed to conform to others' ideals. She loved to travel and enjoyed family vacations with her children, grandchildren, and sisters. She especially loved staying in Taos, New Mexico. As an avid reader she often would read several books a week.
