OBITUARY James Emmette Brickey
James Emmette Brickey died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Claude Knight,
in Carrollton, Texas, Saturday morning, June 28, 1930, at 8:15 o'clock, after a
sickness of several months. Emmette was born in Scott county, Virginia, Dec. 20,
1871 and was 58 years, six months and two days old at the time of his death.
He came to Texas in 1900 and since that time has been a resident of Dallas
county, living a large portion of the time at Carrollton. He had been sick for a
number of months but medical skill was unable to relive his malady.
He is survived by five brothers and four sisters and all but two of the brothers
were with him at time of death; those being J. F. Brickey of Los Angelesl Cal.,
and G. W. Brickey of Shreveport, La. Brothers and sisters surviving him and who
were with him at the time of his death are Mrs. C. F. Bobo of Knoxville, Tenn;
Mrs. J. F. Seats of Hagerman, Texas; Mrs. Bob Hill and Mrs. Claude Knight of
Carrollton. W. W.; T. H. and S. A. Brickey all of North Dallas.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the home by Rev. D. W. Nix,
pastor of the First Baptist church assisted by Rev. Jones, Formerly of this
place. Burial in Forest Lawn cemetery where he was was laid to rest beside his
mother who died some years ago.
