OBITUARY

BROOKS
HARVEY DILLARD, of Sherman, passed away Sunday, April 12, 1998. Services will be held Wednesday, April 15 in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M.  Officiating will be Dr. James Pledger of the First United Methodist Church. Internment will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Brooks was a pharmacist for 40 years in the Sherman area and owner of Dixie Drug and Dixie Pharmacy. Surviving is his wife Mickie of Sherman; 2 sons; Jon Brooks and wife Chris of Euless, Jack Brooks and wife Kathleen of Parker; 5 grandchildren: Meredith Brooks of Euless, Brandye Brooks of Parker, Nathan Brooks of Euless, Logan Brooks of Euless, and Arielle Brooks of Parker; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews; numerous neighbors and friends. Pallbearers will be Rob Killingsworth, Kevin Mitchell, Max Arterberry, Brad Killingsworth, Howard Hestand, Joe Pannell, Larry Squires, and James Jezek. The family will be at Dannel Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14 from 7 until 8 o'clock and other times at the family residence.  If desired, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Women's Crisis Center, or to the donor's favorite charity. The family expresses deep gratitude to those who lovingly offered prayers and support.

OBITUARY

Harvey Brooks

SHERMAN - Harvey Dillard Brooks, of Sherman, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, April 12, 1998, at 5 p.m. in the Wilson N. Jones Regional Health System.  Services will be held Wednesday, April 15, in the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.
Officiating will be Dr. James Pledger of the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks was born March 30, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas, the son of Harvey and Sallie Kirkland Brooks. He was a graduate of Carrollton High School and the University of Texas at Austin. On July 7, 1952, in Denton, he married Mickie McCord. They moved to Sherman 44 years ago from Gainesville, Texas.
Mr. Brooks was a pharmacist for 40 years in the Sherman area and owner of Dixie Drug and Dixie Pharmacy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sherman, member of the Sherman Chamber of Commerce, Civitan Club, and Jaycees. He was director and past president of the Grayson-Collin-Cook Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the Optimist Club. He was a member of the Rainbow Iris Society and a member of the United Ostomy Club. He was an avid fisherman and a gardener and enjoyed oil painting.
Surviving is his wife, Mickie of Sherman; two sons, Jon Brooks and wife, Chris of Euless, and Jack Brooks and wife, Kathleen of Parker; five grandchildren, Meredith Brooks of Euless, Brandye Brooks of Parker, Nathan Brooks of Euless, Logan Brooks of Euless and Arille Brooks of Parker; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews; numerous neighbors and friends.
