Pvt. Edgar A. Burgess, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Burgess of Farmer's Branch, one of te DeWitt Perry grads now in Austalria.

OBITUARY

Burgess, Edgar
Passed away Oct. 21, 2008 at the age of 87. He was born April 3, 1921 in Farmers Branch, TX and continued to reside in Farmers Branch. He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Flora Dennis Burgess, wife of Lois, Brothers J. C., Ray, and Wilmer Burgess also sister Lola Rasberry. Survived by daughters Judy Abbott, her husband Bob, her sons Aaron & David, Jill Burgess, and Jan Whaley and her husband Harry; her children LaDonna, Donald, Janella & Wesley. Many nieces and nephews, cousins from both Burgess & Dennis families. A veteran of WWII, he was a signal corp operator for the U.S. Army Air Corps. A member of VFW Post 8923. He retired after 33 years as a chief rate clerk for TX & Pacific Railway Co. Edgar was a longtime member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch, where he and his wife Lois raised their girls. For many years they served as youth ministers and were affectionately known and Mr. & Mrs. "B". Edgar loved the friendship and support of his church family. He was an avid gardener after retirement and loved sharing his harvest with others. Celebration of Life Fri. Oct. 24, 2008 11am at Webb Chapel United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch with Rev. Joyce Cravens officiating. Interment in Hilltop Memorial Park.
