OBITUARY
Nolan Edward Byrd
BYRD, NOLAN EDWARD, 80, of Carrollton, died November 8, 2006. Mr. Byrd
was born March 10, 1926, in Megargel, Texas. His family moved to Wichita
Falls and then to Odessa, where he went to Odessa High School. Before
graduating from Texas Tech University with a geology degree, Mr. Byrd
served in the U. S. Army as a Second Lieutenant during WWII. Mr. Byrd
worked in the oil business in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico until 1968
when he became a schoolteacher. He taught for almost 20 years in the
Carrollton - Farmers Branch ISD. He is survived by two daughters, Tina
Kay Byrd of Arlington, VA and Martha Jo DeMott of Plano, TX; two
sons-in-law Jim Needham and Mike DeMott and; two grandsons, Michael
Nolan and Matthew Louis DeMott. He was preceded in death by his beloved
wife of 47 years, Clarine Lawrence Byrd. Funeral services will be
Sunday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton,
TX. Visitation will be Saturday, November 11 between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m.
