Wade Carroll promoted to Deputy Fire Chief

The search to find a new Deputy Fire Chief in Southlake ended on May 27, 2011 with the promotion of Wade Carroll to the position. As Deputy Fire Chief, Carroll will be responsible for overseeing Fire Services’ daily operations and emergency call responses, among other duties.

 "Wade has been an integral part of our success," stated Fire Chief Michael Starr. "I am confident that he will continue to effect quality changes in his new position as Deputy Fire Chief."

 In December of this year, Deputy Fire Chief Carroll will be a 10-year veteran of the City. During his time at Southlake, Carroll has worked his way up the ranks as firefighter, Engineer, and most recently, Lieutenant where he served at Station 401 as a truck company officer.  While at Southlake, Carroll has also distinguished himself as a as a two-time “Life Saving Award” recipient, Fire Services Employee of the Year, CPR and CERT program coordinator, and Citizen’s Academy instructor.  

 Deputy Chief Carroll grew up in Carrollton where he attended R. L. Turner High School.  After joining the Marine Corps Reserves, Deputy Chief Carroll enrolled at the University of North Texas where he would meet his future wife, and become interested in firefighting. Carroll is a graduate of the Aubrey Fire Academy.
