OBITUARY

Annie Overall Casey

Annie Overall Casey, 87, was born in Greenville Oct. 2, 1926; she died Oct. 17, 2013.

Her parents were Mamye East Overall and Earl C. Overall. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1943. 

Following graduation she worked at Majors Fields and became the first woman pilot in Hunt County.

She joined Women in the Air Force, graduated from Officer Training School as a lieutenant, and marched in President Dwight Eisenhower’s Inauguration Parade.

She married Russell Casey, a fellow radio operator, in June 1952; they were married 59 years.

Mrs. Casey taught math at R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, worked for the IRS and returned to Greenville in 1996. She and Russ started Casey’s Corner Self-Storage in 2001. 

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Lowell Walker of St. Louis, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Rose Casey of Greenville; grandchildren Laura and Josh Walker; a sister and brother-in-law, Sara Overall Wilson and Jim Wilson of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.

Interment will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the DFW National Veterans Cemetery. A local memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Room 1-2.  Memorials may be sent to Tender Care Facility on Stanford Street in Greenville.
