October 2, 1936 - March 23, 2022

Patricia Frances Cathey known as Patsy to family and friends earned her angel wings March 23, 2022.

Born Patricia Moore to Jessie James Moore and Rene (Anderson) Moore in Dallas, October 2, 1936, she was their only child. She was a cheerleader at Carrollton High School. While in school she met the love of her life and future husband Bobby Dale Cathey, who graduated high school 5 months prior. Bob and Patsy met on a blind date, set up by friends, where Bob said he knew from that first date he would marry her one day. Bob enlisted for two years while Patsy worked in a Dallas department store. They continued writing letters to each other and once he returned home, they married in Dallas and Bob transferred from the Johnson & Johnson in Dallas to the Johnson & Johnson in Sherman. They moved to Sherman with their one-year-old daughter Leslie and eventually had two more children, Brian, and Kevin. Patsy retired from the Grayson County Attorneys Office. She was a member of the school’s P.T.A. She also was her daughter’s campfire leader for five plus years, starting with Bluebirds through the 8th grade. She was also her son’s cub scout leader for years. Patsy was a charter member at Parkview Church of Christ 1964-2006, and a member of Western Heights Church of Christ since 2006. She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Rene Moore, youngest son, Kevin Cathey and his wife Tiffany Cathey.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years this month, Bob Cathey, daughter Leslie Cathey, son Brian Cathey and wife Cindy, grandchildren Jessica Horne and husband Anthony Horne, Brittani Cathey, Caleb Cathey, Garret Cathey and wife Montana, and two great grandchildren Hollis and Ellie.
