CHUMLEY, JEWEL BRIDGES, A resident of Keller, TX for 15 years, formerly of
Carrollton, TX died April 21, 2009 in Mimosa Nursing Home, Keller. Born
September 18, 1909 in Frisco, TX to James Meredith and Pearl Denison Bridges.
She was married to John Houston Chumley August 27, 1929. They were married 45
years until his death October 18, 1974. They moved to Carrollton, TX in 1950 and
were members of First Baptist Church, Carrollton where her husband was a deacon
and she belonged to some of the church organizations. She joined the "Live Wire
Choir" of the church and loved taking bus trips after his death with the Senior
Citizens group of First Baptist. She moved to Keller in 1994 when her health
began to fail to be near her son. There she joined the First Baptist Church of
Keller. She moved into the Mimosa Nursing Home of Keller in 2004 and resided
there until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her
parents, 2 grandsons, Mark and Keith Chumley, one sister, Opal Bridges Hamer, 2
brothers, Roy Bridges and Earl Bridges. Survivors include her daughter
Lawanda Chumley Williams of Burlington, IA, son, Kenneth and wife Jeanene Chumley of
Keller, Texas, 2 granddaughters, Cynthia and husband, Wayne Pruitt of
Carrollton, Texas and Connie and husband Dan Boyd of Burlington, IA, 2
grandsons, Barry Williams of Palm Springs, CA, Darrell and wife Tara Chumley of
Grapevine, TX, great grandchildren, Jeremy and wife April Pruitt of Carrollton,
TX, John Pruitt of The Colony, TX, Jason Koopmans of Beloit, WI, Justin Chumley
in the US Navy, Cody and Hannah Chumley and their mother Michelle Chumley all of
Keller, TX, great, great grandchildren, Josephine and Jacob Pruitt of
Carrollton, TX, sister, Dorothy and husband Russ Williams of Carrollton, TX,
brother, Gerald and wife Lavern Bridges of Sanger, TX.
