OBITUARY Maxine Joyce Plunkett Clement
CLEMENT,, MAXINE JOYCE PLUNKETT 86, Ascended to be with Jesus on Friday, January
11, 2008. Born on September 15, 1921 in Baker Springs, AR, to Velma and Robert
Cleve Plunkett. She was the seventh of eleven children. Maxine taught school in
Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Colorado, before moving to Carrollton in 1951. She
taught various subjects at Carrollton High School /
R. L. Turner High School
from 1951 to 1984, ending her teaching career as the Science Department
Chairman. After her retirement, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Metrocrest Service Center for many years. Maxine was a member of the First
Christian Church, Carrollton, TX for 56 years. She was a member of the Dixie
Chainers Square Dance Club for 18 years and a charter member of the Carrolton
Dance Club and the Farmers Branch Dance Club. Maxine is survived by her husband
of 61 years, James Clement, daughter Angella Clement Woodard of San Antonio, TX;
daughter Darla Clement Jarvis of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters Lucille Moyer of
Paris, TX, Charlene Herndon of Ada, OK; brothers Woodrow Plunkett of Texarkana,
TX, John Plunkett of Ft. Worth, TX, Burl Plunkett of Ada, OK; grandchildren
Byron, Rachel and Leah Woodard and Amanda and Austin Jarvis. Visitation will be
held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 15th at Rhoton Funeral Home, 1511 S
I-35 E, Carrollton, TX. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday,
January 16th at the First Christian Church, 1835 Walnut Ave., Carrollton, TX.
Burial will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 17th at the Pleasant Grove
Cemetery, Cove, AR. Dignity Rhoton 1511 S. I-35 @ Crosby Carrollton TX 75006

Denton County, Texas Maxine Joyce Plunkett Clement, died Friday, Jan.
11, 2008. She was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Baker Springs. She was a teacher, a
volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Metrocrest Service Center, a member of First
Christian Church in Carrollton, Texas, the Dixie Chainers Square Dance Club, the
Carrollton Dance Club and Farmers Branch Dance Club.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church in Carrollton, with
burial at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cove. Obituary submitted

She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Angella Woodard of San
Antonio ad Darla Jarvis of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two sisters, Lucille Moyer of
Paris, Texas, and Charlene Herndon of Ada, Okla.; three brothers, Woodrow
Plunkett of Texarkana, Texas, John Plunkett of Fort Worth, Texas, and Burl
Plunkett of Ada, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
