Some 800 baccalaureate and 440 graduate degrees were conferred during Southern Methodist University's 50th annual commencement exercises Sunday, May 30.
The ceremonies mark the beginning of a year-long observance of SMU's 50th anniversary.
SMU President Willis M. Tate delivered his traditional statement to the graduating class.
Candidates for degrees from Carrollton include Richard North Coleman, 1821 Hood St, bachelor of Business Administration; Wendel Carl Harrison, 1803 Tartan, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
