Coppell Man Dies Recently at Home
Andrew Jackson Colwell, 71, passed away Sunday, June 14, at his home near
Coppell. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church there with interment
at the Farmers Branch Cemetery
Monday following his death. He was born on a farmer six miles west of
Grapevine, April 9, 1871. he moved to Dallas County 63 years ago and had lived
on the same farm 52 years. He was married in Feb., 1888 to Miss Katherine Dick.
Survivors include the wife; two children, Charlie Colwell of Coppell and a
daughter, Mrs. W. R. Carothers of Dallas, Rt. 4; two sisters, Mrs. Joan Cracker
of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Belle Ferguson of California; one brother, Wiley
Colwell and also of California; 12 grandchildren and sex great grand children.
He was the grandfather of Charles Colwell of Carrollton. The Carrollton
