OBITUARY

William Cooper

CARROLLTON - William James Cooper, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1993, at his residence.
Service will be at 2 p.m. today in Rhoton Funeral Home chapel with burial in Furneaux Cemetery.
He was born May 6, 1910, in Baton Rouge, La. Having a 40-year career in law enforcement, he was employed by the San Angelo Police Department where he was captain of the motorcycle officers, was Irving police chief and Killeen police chief. He also served as Carrollton police chief and was employed by Republic Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys N. Cooper of Carrollton; two daughters, Libby Dixon of Irving and Sharon Brown of Dallas; a brother; a sister; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
