OBITUARY Dies In Car Crash A
Farmers Branch youth Daniel Keith Cox; 18, of 2928 Oxfordshire, was killed at
3:45 p.m. Monday when a car in which he was a passenger lost control on Forest
Lane near Audelia Road and struck a tree.
Cox was riding in a sports convertible driven by an appliance salesman, 32 Two
children, Debbie Woods, 6, and Bobby Woods, 2, were also front seat passengers.
They are children of Mrs. Robert Woods of 9041 Royal Crown, Dallas.
Police said the convertible was headed west on Forest, lost control on a curve,
skidded off the roadway, jumped a ditch, struck a fence, then went sent flying
35 feet through the air striking a tree at 4 1/2 feet off the ground.
Cox was thrown out and crashed beneath the car when it fell to the ground. The
two children were also thrown out.
The children and the driver was treated and released at Garland Memorial
Hospital for cuts and bruises. Police were preparing, negligent homicide charges
against the driver.
Funeral arrangements for Cox are pending at Restland Funeral Home.
