OBITUARY

John H. Cox Dies at Home
John H. Cox, 83, retired Farmers Branch farmer, died Saturday at his home there.
A native of Georgia, Cox came to Texas in 1899 and settled at Midlothian, Ellis County. Later he moved to Ovilla in Ellis County where he also farmed.  He moved to Farmers Branch in 1928.
Cox is survived by four sons, Gordon Cox of Dallas, Clarence Cox of Irving, W. L. Cox and Raymond Cox of Farmers Branch; six daughters, Miss Lois Cox, Mrs. Ruth Owens, and Miss Ruby Cox of Dallas, Mrs. Pearl Nutting of Midlothian and Mrs. Oscar Cheshire and Mrs. Cleo Thurman of Farmers Branch; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Farmers Branch Baptist Church. The Rev. G. B. Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Ovilla Cemetery, Ellis County.
Pallbearers will be John Harrison, Charles Shafer, Martin Gregg, Cecil Coonrod, Herbert Bullock and B. A. Marcom.
