OBITUARY M. W. Cox Died Thursday
Marion W. Cox died last Thursday, Oct. 8, while returning to his home
in Dallas in his auto in company with his wife and sister. They had
been at Farmers Branch visiting with Mrs. Johnie Padgett, a sister, and death
came to Mr. Cox while on his way home. He seemed to be in fair health and
death came as a great shock to his family. Funeral was held Friday at
Cochran's chapel, Carl C. Gregory of the First Methodist church South
officiated, and Rev. D. F. Fuller of Grand Prairie assisted. Interment was in
Webb chapel cemetery. Mr. Cox resided at 5350 Monticello avenue,
Dallas, and has been a resident of the city all of the 66 years of his life. He
is survived by his widow, Mrs. Allie Mae Cox, by two daughters, Rhena Merle Cox
and Mrs. W. S. Wilroy; two brothers, Joe J. Cox and I. H. Cox, and five sisters,
Misses Elizabeth and Fannie Cox, Mrs. T. D. Elliott, Mrs. A. H. Daniel and Mrs.
T. J. Lively. Pallbearers were Edwin Asbury, Russell Smith, J. B.
Asbury, Floyd May, Milton Daniel, Max Daniel and Joe Daniel. The Carrollton

OBITUARY Marion Cox, Retired, Dies Suddenly in
Auto
Marion W. Cox, 66, lifelong resident of Dallas and a retired business man,
died Thursday while returning home in his automobile with his wife and sister
from Farmers Branch. He resided at 5350 Monticello.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Allie May Cox; two daughters, Rhena Merle Cox and
Mrs. W. S. Wilroy; two brothers, Joe J. Cox and I. H. Cox, and five sisters,
Miss Elizabeth Cox, Miss Fannie Cox, Mrs. T. D. Elliott, Mrs. A. H. Daniel and
Mrs. T. J. Lively.
Services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Cochran's Chapel, Dr. Carl C. Gregory
of First Methodist Church officiating assisted by the Rev. D. F. Fuller of Grand
Prairie. Burial will be in the
Webb Chapel Cemetery.
