SEPTEMBER 4, 1941 – FEBRUARY 27, 2023Hugh Arnold Crocker of
Arlington, Texas, went home to the arms of his Heavenly Father on
Monday, February 27, 2023.
Hugh, 81, was born in Dallas, Texas, to Fred (Nellie) Crocker and Louise
(Dick) Lathem. Hugh graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrolton,
Texas, in 1960. Hugh proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring
as a Chief Petty Officer. He always said those were some of the best
years of his life. After retiring, he went to work for Martin Marietta
on the external fuel tank for the space shuttle. He also worked for LTV
on the B1 Bomber. Hugh retired from Lockheed Martin in 1997 as a Quality
Engineer on the MLRS program. His hobbies included woodworking,
listening to music, and loving his family.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 52 years, Samra; his daughter Connie
Pearson and her partner, Calvin Kersey, of Weirton, West Virginia; son
Jerry and Elizabeth Young of Hughesville, Maryland; son Richard Crocker
of Flowood, Mississippi; and son Patrick Crocker of Arlington, Texas;
Daughter-in-law Starr Crocker of Slidell, Louisiana. Hugh was blessed
with 10 Grandchildren and 5 very special Great-Grandchildren. He is also
survived by his sister, Vivian Smith, of Lake Dallas, Texas. His sister,
Alice (Roger) Murphy of Duncanville, Texas. Sisters-in-law Barbara
(Chet) Orr and Vickie (Harvey) Byers of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Hugh has
many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nellie Crocker, Louise
and Dick Lathem, Kenneth and Mildred Garrett, son Billy Charles Crocker,
brothers Sid Lathem, Dewey Crocker, and Carl Crocker, sisters Anna Marie
Peters and Eva Pearl Ward. Brothers-in-law John D. Smith and Kenneth
Garrett. Sister-in-law Lois Crocker. Daughter-in-law Dawn Young, Linda
Crocker, and Tracey Crocker.
A viewing will be held at the Moore Funeral Home at 4216 S Bowen Rd,
Arlington, TX, on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Committal Service will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National
Cemetery on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. |
