Mrs. J. G. Cromer died at her home in Farmers Branch last Friday morning, Sept 25, at 4:07 o'clock after a very short sickness; she never having regained consciousness after she was stricken Monday morning Sept. 21.
Funeral services were held in Carrollton in the Methodist church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Roper of Dallas conducting the services, and interment being in Forest Lawn cemetery. A large concourse of surrounding relatives and friends being present to show their respects to her who had spent her life among them so blamelessly. The Carrollton Fire department attended in a body; two of her sons being, or having recently been members of the organization.
Mrs. Cromer was born March 11, 1875, her maiden being Irena Shepherd in Wood county, near Mineola, Texas, and was 56 years, 6 months, and 14 days old at the time of her death.  She has been a member of the Church of God many years and lived a true Christian life, a loving wife and mother.
She leaves a husband and five children: Mrs. Floyd May, Mrs. John Inman of Hamilton, Dub Cromer of Lake Dallas, Lem Cromer of this place, and Mrs. Ben Thompson of Farmers Branch. There are seven grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers, The family have lived the greater portion of their lives in or about Carrollton and only a few months ago they moved to Farmers Branch. There is a vacant chair in the home that cannot be filled, but we know that she is in her heavenly home that the Master has prepared for her.
