OBITUARY

Karen Sue Crum
1935 - 2001
 
Service for Karen Sue Crum, 66, of Decatur was Friday, Nov. 30 at Coker Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rusty Hedges officiated. Burial followed at Hilltop Cemetery in Carrollton. Crum died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.

Born Aug. 23, 1935, in Gove County, Kansas, she was executive director of Independent Distributors Association in Dallas. She was active in the Dallas Fort Worth Association of Executives, Texas Society of Association Executives and accredited as a certified meeting professional.  She was an active participant in Toastmasters International. She wrote a column entitled "Wise Bird Notes" for the Wise County Messenger. She was active in the Tallgrass Prairie Audubon Chapter as secretary and as editor of the club newsletter "Tall Grass Tales."

She is survived by her husband, Wallace Crum of Decatur; her father- and mother-in-law, Alvin and Hester Crum of Fort Worth, two sons, Wyman Royer of Hansville, Wash. and Gregg and wife Kristyn Royer of Quilcence, Wash.; a daughter, Fawn Johnston of Dallas; two stepdaughters, Renee and husband David Martin and Shelley Westbrook; a brother, Bennie and wife Donna Saindon of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Mary, Matthew and Jason Royer, Bryttani Johnston, Derek Sapp, Michael Martin, Wesley, Justin and Haley Westbrook; and one great-grandson, Andrew Royer.

Honorary pallbearers were Wyman, Gregg and Matthew Royer, Bennie Saindon, David Martin, Alvin Crum and Fred Heath.
