ARTICLE Boy's Feet Cut
Off While mowing cane near his home at Letot Thursday of last
week, Otto Crumberly, a well known farmer, drove the mower over his 4-year old
son, cutting off both feet above the ankle.
Crumberly began his work shortly after daylight. The little boy got up
later and wandered off to the field in search of his father. Crumberly did not
see the child wading through the cane and not until a scream was heard beneath
the long blades of the machine did he realize what had happened. He jumped from
the seat and tenderly pulled the child from beneath the blades. Another turn of
the machine would probably have caused instant death. The aid of
physicians was immediately called, the little fellow's wounds dressed and he is
doing as nicely as could be expected. The Carrollton Chronicle -
