FARMERS BRANCH Beaten wife dies same day man jumped to death

A Farmers Branch woman has died after being beaten with a baseball bat, officials said. Misty Davila , 33, was pronounced dead at a Dallas hospital at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Her husband, Robert Davila , 41, died early Thursday after he jumped off a bridge in Dallas. Farmers Branch police were dispatched to the couple's home late Wednesday in the 2700 block of Mount View Drive. Police believe the fight started because Mrs. Davila did not want her intoxicated husband to leave the house with the children. The victim's 12-year-old daughter told police that Mr. Davila hit her mother in the head with a wooden baseball bat and then left in his truck. Early Thursday, Farmers Branch police tried to stop Mr. Davila 's vehicle near Valley View Lane and Interstate 35E. Officers chased him into Dallas, where Mr. Davila got out of his vehicle on I-35E and jumped over the rail onto the LBJ Freeway.
