OBITUARY
Donald R.
“Donnie” Davis, age 66 of Rowlett, TX, passed away February 24, 2011. He
was born October 26, 1944, in Carrollton, TX, to James William and
Gladys (Thomas) Davis. Donnie graduated from Carrollton High School in
1963, attended Sam Houston State on a football scholarship and remained
a sports enthusiast through the years. He served his country in the U.S.
Army during Vietnam, was a longtime employee of Safeway Foods and a
former member of Elks Lodge. Donnie was a very generous husband, father
and friend. Known as “Mr. Don” in his neighborhood, he took care of
everyone and they all loved him.
Donnie is survived by his wife of 43 years: Brenda Schmitz Davis;
daughters: Kerrie Tea and husband Matthew, Ashley Murtaugh and husband
James, and Dusty Kelly and husband Brian; grandchildren: Andrew Smith,
Addison Murtaugh, Davis, Cooper, and Tanner Tea; stepgrandchildren:
Amanda and Megan Kelly; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He
was preceded in death by his parents, older brother James Cameron Davis
and twin brother Ronald Lee Davis.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 26, 2011, at
Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel with Bishop Todd Bell
officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family
will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

Donald was born on October 26, 1944 and passed away on Thursday,
February 24, 2011.
Donald was a resident of Rowlett, Texas at the time of his passing.
Donnie graduated from Carrollton High School in 1963.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife Brenda.
