OBITUARY
Rites today in Farmers Branch for Ethel Good Crain Dennis
Graveside services for Ethel Good Crain Dennis, a descendant of one of Farmers
Branch's founding families, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Good family
plot in Keenan Cemetery in
Farmers Branch.
Ms. Dennis, 97, died Wednesday at a health center in Midland. She was born in
Farmers Branch. her grandfather, Noah good, was one of three people who founded
Farmers Branch during the 1800s.
Her daughter, Valois Crain Holder of West Columbia, Texas, said her mother was a
true pioneer woman who lived when there were no cars on the road.
Ms. Dennis also volunteered during World War I by knitting socks and sweaters.
During World War II she also worked as a riveter at Lockheed. Other survivors
include her son, M. G. Crain of Midland; three grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.

Ethel Good Crain, a descendant of the Peters Colony and one of the founding
families of Farmers Branch, on Wednesday, May 3, 1995 in her 98th year. Daughter
of the late James A. Good and the late Susan Butler Good; wife of the late Solon
P. Crain, D.D.S. and the late Guy Dennis; mother of M.G. (Pete) and his wife,
Carol Crain and Valois Crain Holder; grandmother of Maxelle and her husband,
Terry Singletarry, Holli and her husband, Whit MClendon and Julie and her
husband, John Miller; great grandmother
of three; sister of the late Frank Good, the late Don Good, the late Louella
Cook, the late Bertie Noell, and the late Ruth Noell. Friends are invited to
attend Services at the graveside in the Good Family Plot

Saturday afternoon
2:30 o'clock
Rev. Sam Underwood will officiate. Interment will follow. Mrs. Dennis will not
be placed in state and there will be no visitation until the funeral service.
Foral deliveries to the gravesite after 1 o'clock.
