Nelda Rose Kirby,
Richard Devereaux Marry in Dallas Mr. and Mrs. Homer E. Kirby of
Honey Grove announce the marriage of their daughter, Nelda Rose, to Richard
Devereaux of Carrollton, son of Mrs. Della Utley of Carrollton. The wedding took
place Friday, Sept. 29, at the home of the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.
Mike Brent, in Dallas., Melvin Wise, Church of Christ minister, officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a blue suit with black
accessories and a corsage of gardenjas.
Miss Marorie Channey and Dub Jacobs, both of Dallas, attended th couple, Miss
Chaney wore a blue suit with brown accessories and a corsage of white
carnations.
At the reception following the ceremony, the wedding cake was served with punch
by Mrs. Dub Jacobs, Miss Channey and Miss Mayme Lois Dennis and Miss Ann
Devereaux of Carrollton, Miss Ellan Kirby of Honey Grove, sister of the bride,
presided at the register.
Mrs. Devereaux is a graduate of Honey Grove High School and for the past two
years has been employed by South western Bell Telephone company in Dallas. The
groom, a graduate of Carrollton High School, served three years with the Army
Air Force.
The couple will be at home in Dallas after a wedding trip to Hot Springs Ark. |

Richard Devereaux
Joins Army Air Corp Walter Richard Devereaux, son of Mrs. Della
Devereaux, Carrollton, Texas, enlisted in the new peacetime Regular Army at the
Dallas U. A. Army Recruiting Station on June 18. Pvt. Devereaux chose the
Air Forde3s and Caribbean Theater. He is a former student of the Carrollton High
School and plans to enter college under the provisions of the G. I.. Bill of
Rights upon the termination of his three year enlistment. The

"Dick" Devereaux Walter Richard "Dick" Devereaux of Arlington,
82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010.
Graveside services was Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Dick was a longtime resident of Granbury.
Survivors: Daughters, Linda Carrier and husband, Wade, Paula Martin and husband,
Charles; son, Brian Devereaux.
