OBITUARY

Grade Crossing Tragedy

Double funeral services were held at the Baptist church Saturday at 4:00 p.m. for Catherine Irene Calloway, aged 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Calloway and Ruth Dickerson, age 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Dickerson of Farmers Branch. At 6:00 p.m. Funeral services were held for Edwin Tracy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tracy. All were victims of a grade crossing accident Friday evening on the Duncanville road. The two girls were instantly killed and little Edwin Tracy, 3 years old, only lived five hours but never regained consciousness. His mother, Mrs. Cleo Cox Tracy, 22, was critically injured and is still unconscious at Methodist hospital in Dallas. Doctors say there is a slight chance of her recovery. Lige Lawson of Midlothian driver of the car was the fifth victim. Lawson was instantly killed, funeral services were  held Sunday at Midlothian.

Rev. Glascow preached the funeral sermon for miss Dickerson; Rev. Thos. J. Ramsey preached the sermon for the Edwin Tracy funeral; Rev. Orbin Turner preached the sermon for Miss Colloway.
